House: Henri Billiot
"Pale salmon skin color. Complex nose combines strawberry preserves, ginger, molasses, nutmeg, flowers and earth. Bright, penetrating flavors of strawberry, raspberry and flowers, with complicating notes of smoke and minerals. A dense, saline Champagne with noteworthy flavor authority and length." Stephen Tanzer - International Wine Cellar
Billiot’s five hectares of vines are all in the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay. Even more impressive is that their parcels are on the mid-slope, in the most favored portion of the vineyard area, expressing the classical character of this famous village. “The wines of Ambonnay are very vinous, with a lot of strength, but they are also very fine, with delicacy and finesse”, says Laetitia Billiot. Today the House is led by her father, Serge Billiot, who insiders say cultivates a playful mystery about his craft – with no secrets shared! But, soon we will have a woman at the helm of this great House as he slowly turns over the estate to the lovely Laetitia. We anticipate great things from her!
"Let me be your personal chef de cave. Sit back, relax, and I'll choose for you."
